About Me
Expertise, experience, training and professional qualifications
My name is Dr Lynne Cochrane. I am a Chartered Health Psychologist, and registrant with the British Psychological Society and a Practitioner Psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council. I am an Applied Psychologist and a Behavioural Scientist and have undergone significant post-qualification training and development. I currently lecture on a British Psychological Society accredited Psychology and Counselling degree.
My specialism is women's health, particularly the physical, emotional and psychological impact of the challenging times of change in women's lives; the perinatal period, perimenopause and menopause.
My background is in general health and maternity care. I trained and worked within the NHS, the private sector and the third sector, in women's health and maternity care, as well as long term health conditions such as stroke, diabetes, chronic pain, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, cardiac conditions and other physical health conditions. I have seven years experience supporting clients to adjust to long term health conditions, managing health anxiety, reducing symptoms, and changing health behaviours. I have supported women at perimenopause and menopause and in the perinatal period; pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
I have four years experience in occupational health, reducing absences from work, increasing performance and productivity, and enabling employees to return to work sooner, following absence. I also have three years experience working clinically with clients suffering from post traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and complex post traumatic stress disorder (CPTSD), anxiety disorder, social anxiety disorder (SAD) obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), panic disorder, mood disorders, depression and other mental health conditions, following traumatic life events.
